This palace symbolizes the constitutional monarchy in a certain sense, along with the Palace of the Nation, which is the seat of the Federal Parliament located at the other end of the Warandepark.
The palace serves as the administrative residence and main workplace of the King, where he works daily with his staff. It is also where the King receives representatives of political institutions, foreign guests, and other dignitaries.
Inside the palace, you can find the bureau of the King and the bureau of the Queen, as well as the services of the House of His Majesty the King, including the Cabinet of the King, the Secretariat-General, the Civil List, the Military House, the Protocol Service, and the Secretariat of the Queen. The other members of the Royal Family and their staff also have offices there.
The palace features exceptional salons with remarkable decorations, where various activities of the King and Queen are organized, such as working meetings, receptions, concerts, and lunches. It also has apartments that are made available to heads of state during official visits.
Unfortunately, the palace will not be open to the public this year due to renovation works. However, you can take a virtual tour of the palace at https://virtualtour.monarchie.be.
