User FAQs

The natural area was originally an extension of the Zoniën Forest and was designed as a park in the late 19th century. It has since become a popular spot for locals to walk, exercise, and relax.

The park is divided into two parts: the first part is more wooded and features an English lawn and a ravine with an impressive rock bridge, while the second part centers around a six-hectare lake with a wooded island that is home to the Chalet Robinson, accessible only by ferry.

The park is open to the public at all times, except during strong winds. The roads are closed to cars from Saturday morning to Sunday evening. During office hours, you can contact the Green Spaces department of the City of Brussels at 02 279 61 00 for more information.

The park offers a range of amenities, including benches, trash cans, drinking fountains, lighting, horse riding facilities, a playground, a roller skating rink, a kiosk, and restaurants with sanitary facilities, as well as a ferry.

The park is home to a variety of tree species, including beech, oak, and chestnut, and is a habitat for 16 species of bats. You may also catch a glimpse of deer from the Zoniën Forest venturing into the park.
