The natural area was originally an extension of the Zoniën Forest and was designed as a park in the late 19th century. It has since become a popular spot for locals to walk, exercise, and relax.
The park is divided into two parts: the first part is more wooded and features an English lawn and a ravine with an impressive rock bridge, while the second part centers around a six-hectare lake with a wooded island that is home to the Chalet Robinson, accessible only by ferry.
